Time I Got Kicked Out of the Gym

I’ve been a user of a well known gym brand in the UK for many years. It was cheap, cheerful, 24/7, and had all the kit etc that I wanted/needed. The beauty of the membership in that club was that you had one code, you could go to another gym location. Basically one price, multiple gyms. When I moved back home there was a gym quite close to me, and I decided to stay there.

Woodford Lowry 5

The multi-stove burner that came with my house had the worst instructions included with it. I’ll post a link to it, but basically it doesn’t tell you which is the primary air control, or secondary, or what fuel to burn or etc. Since it was really hard for me to find anything on it, I’m hoping you stumble on this blog post giving you info on what does what. There’s 2 pull handles on the front of the burner.

Letting Go of Toxic People

No matter how good a friend someone is, there’s always a possibility that you gotta let them go because they’re toxic in one way or another. I’m not saying you gotta stop being friends with someone because their opinion clashes with yours… well… not entirely anyway. I guess it would help if I pointed out what exactly does toxic really look like: 1. They seem to bring you down with their negativity This isn’t just an instance of they’re sad one day, so you’re sad.

Inner Demons

I’ve been working out for about 7 years now. I’ve seen so many different people in the gym, all different sizes, different ethnicities, different motivations… both female and males. The long and short of it, we’re all in the gym battling a type of inner demon. Let’s be completely honest, you wouldn’t be at the gym if there wasn’t something nagging you to go. Whether it’s to lose that extra pound, gain that six pack, rehabilitation, or just to not die.

Dangers of Ego Lifts

It’s a rather common phrase - lift with your ego. This however is quite a dangerous thing, not just in the gym, but in everyday life. Let me explain. One day I was in a graduate scheme coding thing. There were 4 of us, and we were programming a piece for a project. I was saying at the start of the meeting - “we need to refactor the code, it’s messy, and quite hard to test/debug”.

Primer on Identity

Let’s start off by saying this: Who you are, what you are, what you identify as, what makes up part of your personality, what makes you… you - ALL OF THAT is incredibly important. Identity is something that is yours, and you should be incredibly proud of it. What makes each one of us unique is the ability to say that part of my identity belongs with this gender, this race, this culture, this religion (if you follow one), this virtue, this belief etc.
