Inner Demons
A primer for going to the gym

I’ve been working out for about 7 years now. I’ve seen so many different people in the gym, all different sizes, different ethnicities, different motivations… both female and males.
The long and short of it, we’re all in the gym battling a type of inner demon. Let’s be completely honest, you wouldn’t be at the gym if there wasn’t something nagging you to go. Whether it’s to lose that extra pound, gain that six pack, rehabilitation, or just to not die. We all have a small demon inside that’s provoking us to go.
Even the instagrammer has a demon, they’re not happy with something, otherwise they’d not bother going either.
The first thing you gotta realise is EVERYONE has a demon, whether it’s big or not is irrelevant. Just know that you joined the gym and everyone is fighting their inner demon. You have committed to fighting that demon, and honestly, that’s an amazing battle to fight. Do keep in mind that others are fighting that same battle, this is why everyone in the gym should be respected.
Regardless how much noise they make, how they throw their weight around, how much/little they lift… everyone in the gym is there to improve. Respect their time, because we’re all fighting the same fight. Don’t judge someone at the gym who works and commits time to work in the gym.
